Recreation (Rec.): This division is designed the everyday player who is interested in playing baseball recreationally. The teams in this division will be selected through a draft and each head coach of the team is allowed to freeze up to six (6) players. Prior to the start of the season, the player is expected to have practice anywhere between 2 and 3 times per week. After the start of games, the player will likely have a commitment of 2-3 times per week (usually a combination of 1-2 games and a practice each week). Depending on the age group, it is expected that each player will practice individually on his or her own when time permits. This division is expected to focus on the fundamentals of baseball and developing a appreciation for the game.
Select/Competitive Team: A Select/Competitive (Select/Comp.) team is essentially "travel ball light". The program is designed for players who for a deeper level of commitment to the season than Rec. Baseball. Unlike Rec. Baseball, the Select/Competitive Team is selected through a tryout process and "selected" by the coach of the team, there is no mandatory play rules/regulations, and the team will compete in two or three team arranged tournaments throughout the season. The time commitment for a Select/Comp. team is more than Rec. and may consist of 4-6 nights of activity and increased individual practice. THERE ARE ADDITIONAL COSTS associated with participating on a Select/Competitive team and there is no guarantee of a spot on such team. If you would like more information regarding the select/comp. teams please click on "Registration Info" tab and select "Select/Competitive Teams".
Coweta Charter Academy Team: The Coweta Charter Academy ("CCA") team is a designated Rec. team comprised of players who attend CCA. The team will play other Rec. teams in SAAA and our interleague program. Any player who attends CCA is not required to play for CCA, but can elect to do. CCA will designate players, from its own selection process, who will be allowed to play on the CCA team.
